Volunteering at Community Church

Community Church is a place where volunteers come together to bless not only the community and world, but also the Community Church family. Hundreds of volunteers each and every week make the many dynamic ministries of this community a reality, and there are a number of ways that you can get involved and volunteer at Community Church.  Here are some of the serving areas that you could connect to at Community Church.  See one you like?  Fill out the form and you will be contacted by a ministry leader with more information.

Hospitality Teams : The hospitality teams at Community Church make Community Church a welcoming and inviting place to visit. Hospitality volunteers serve in the parking lot, are ushers and greeters, help serve coffee, get you connected through our ACCESS ministry, and make sure you have a great experience when you visit Community Church.  Want to volunteer or just want more information, click here.

Fabulous Food Team : The Food Team is always looking for people who like to work in the kitchen. This team preps, cooks, serves and cleans up at a number of different church events – some are weekly (Wednesdays) and some are just occasional. We can work with your schedule – just let us know that you’re interested. Even if you don’t have a lot of experience working with food, we can teach you the basics – and we have FUN working together. Worship and the Arts : The worship and the arts teams provide the creative life to our Sunday gatherings and special events.  Worship Arts includes the worship musicians, the technical teams that work behind the scenes, drama teams, prop and stage designers and teams that produce our creative videos.  If you would like more information about how to become part of the Worship Arts team,  just click here.

Facilities : The facilities team at Community Church helps keep our building and grounds in top shape as well as providing building safety.  The Green Team helps maintain the grounds around the church, providing a beautiful environment around our worship space.  Our weekly Clean Team assists the Facilities staff in keeping the interior of the building clean and our Crisis Response Team (CRT) provide a safe environment for weekends and events at Community Church with emergency and medical response expertise.  Interested in joining the facilities team or just want information, click here.

kidLife : kidLife volunteers are the amazing people that spend each Sunday morning taking the truths of God and connecting that truth to our children.  We have teams of volunteers that work with the babies in the nursery all the way up to our 5th and 6th grade students.  If you have a heart for kids and want to know more about serving with kidLife, click here.

uLife : uLife is our college aged ministry at Community Church. uLife seeks to connect students to God, one another, and the church and does this through small groups and partnerships with inter-generational leaders who come alongside college students and encourage them in their faith.  If you are looking to get connected to uLife as a student, check out the uLife page, if you are interested in serving with uLife or want more information, click here.

studentLife : studentLife is Community Church’s ministry to middle and high school students where each week our staff and volunteers seek to make lifelong followers of Jesus through small groups, worship, teaching and lots of fun!  studentLife is always looking for responsible adult leaders who have a heart for students to know Jesus.  To get more information or sign up to volunteer with studentLife, click here.

Compassionate and Community Care:  These ministries are coordinated through our Deacon Board. The Compassionate Care Ministry addresses Spiritual, Emotional, and Personal needs of others (i.e. visitations, prayer, counseling, etc.) The Community Care Ministry addresses the Material and Physical needs of others (i.e. minor home repair, auto repair, moving, lawn care, etc.).If you are interested in volunteering for either of these ministries, please fill out this form and we will contact you!

The Community Church Care Store provides personal and household care items to people who need them free of charge. Men and women can come and shop for things like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, detergent, and other products provided through donations to the ministry.  For more information and ways to donate or volunteer, click here.

Food Team-The Fabulous Food Team preps, cooks, serves and cleans up at various events through the year.   The two main events include a monthly luncheon and a weekly (Wednesday) evening dinner.  Many hands make light work! Community Days- Looking for a chance to make an Impact in a powerful way?  Twice a year, Community Church provides needed help to hundreds of families in the area. Help is given through different volunteer driven activities and different helpful agencies and organizations in the community and their resources. Activities offered to the guests are free haircuts, manicures, vision screenings, massages, kid’s crafts, and pancake breakfasts. In order to make this happen we need you! We need volunteers to pass out food, paint nails, unload the trucks, set up, clean up, and much much more. ICRH-Rotating Homeless Shelter operates a rotating shelter in partnership with local churches, businesses, agencies, and student groups. Their mission is to provide immediate, temporary housing to homeless individuals of all social and cultural identities in Isabella County during the cold months. Community Church partners with the ICRH each year and for one week we house the homeless in our community. During this time we need around the clock volunteers for 7 days in a row. Click here if you would like to volunteer at the next Rotating Homeless Shelter which is hosted every year at our church during the first week in February.
